Running
Judy Freed
Living Text # 1, Pp. 36-39
I would have liked my simple life to go
uninterrupted.
I did not care to know about the hopelessly corrupted.
I thought I was no better than the rest.
Then God chose me, and put me to the test
All at once there were places to go, and people to see,
and cities to save. That's a lot for a guy like me.
So I went...
Chorus
Running from my future, running from
my name,
running from my calling. running from
my shame.
I went running from the voice that
was too hard to follow;
Running 'cross the land, running to
the sea.
I was running from the choice that
was too big to swallow,
and something even bigger up and
swallowed me....
