Sears A. Eldredge, PhD, is Chair of the Dramatics Arts & Dance Dept. of Macalester College in St. Paul. The author of Mask Improvisation for Actor Training & Performance: The Compelling Image, He has taught mask-making and performance for 30 years. Highly influenced by traditional Asian theaters, his recent play, Return to Kanburi, employs Japanese Noh style to recount the reconciliation between a former prisoner of war and his captor.
